Weekend Results

Thank you to all of our Cougar Fans who came to our Home Season Opener Football Game on Friday night. It was a special night being introduced to all of our Fall Sport Student Athletes in the inaugural Parade of Teams. Thank you to all of the parent volunteers who helped support our efforts both on and off the field.

Varsity Football:

The football team won 37-0 over Indian Rocks Friday Night. Bryce Williams rushed for 268 and a touchdown in only 3 quarters of play. Jack Koscho, rushed for a TD, and threw touchdown passes to Dom Olivo and Ryan Blechta. The defense played hard led by Cole Purmort, Michael St. Juste, Tray Hall, and Tyrelle Deener. THANK YOU TO ALL THE FANS THAT CAME OUT! THE NEW STUDENT SECTION WAS PACKED!

JV Football:

Last Thursday the JV Football team defeated Bishop Verot 21-7 in their season opener. Touchdowns were scored by Dylan Robertson, Gabe Copeland and George Dramis.

Boys Golf:

The golf team defeated ODA last Thursday. The boys were led by Kyle Jarrett, Noah Kumar, Dalton Plattner and Robbie Higgins. The boys’ golf team is currently undefeated after also beating Riverview in the season opener and Bradenton Christian and Sarasota on Tuesday.

Volleyball:

Last Tuesday the Volleyball team lost a hard-fought Battle to nationally ranked Berkley Prep in three games. Junior Kali Plattner had 7 kills, 9 digs, Sophomore Madison Brown had 1 ace, and 9 digs, and senior Lauren Medenis had 20 assists and 6 digs.

The JV Volleyball team defeated Lakewood Ranch JV on Thursday. The Cougars had key performances from Isabella Thomsen and Tiffany Thomas.

Cross Country:

The Cougar cross country boys and girls teams participated in the annual Canes Classic on Labor Day at GT Bray Park. The boys’ team finished third in the meet. Notable finishers were seniors, Sebastian Lescano and Alec Stettler, who finished 10th and 11th. Sophomore Jordan Post broke a 20 minute 5K for the first time in his career. The girls’ team also showed promise with strong finishes junior Tristan Shipe and seniors Melanie Meegan and Tatum Weishaar.
