Summer Athletic Conditioning Programs at CMHS

Summer 2021

The Cardinal Mooney Athletic Department is providing several opportunities for our student-athletes to stay involved in their sports and activities over the summer months.  Participation is voluntary and participants must be enrolled in the 2021-2022 school year. Student-athletes must also be cleared through Athletic Clearance (Visit Athletic Clearance tab on the Athletics page of our website).  For specific information about the Summer Conditioning programs, please contact the Head Coach listed. 

Summer Strength and Conditioning with Coach Ruane and Coach Smithers

Dates: June 7- July 2 and July 12-23

Days:   Monday, Wednesday, Friday

Time:   9-10:30 am

Cost:    $125   

Strength & Conditioning will focus on getting our campers bigger, faster & stronger. Coach Ruane will teach Power Lifts, Olympic Lifts, explosive movements as well as improving on speed/agility and conditioning. Campers will be measured throughout the summer in 40 yard dash, vertical jump, standing broad jump, squat and bench press. All athletes of any sport are welcome.  Those interested in overall fitness are also encouraged to attend. 

All participants must have Athletic Clearance including a current EL2 physical. Please email Coach Ruane at [email protected] if you are interested in attending.

Boys and Girls Cross Country – Coach Christi McDonald

Kick-off: June 1-3, 6:00 pm – 7:00 pm at CMHS

Dates: June 7-11

Details as follows:

Monday, 7-8 am @ Benderson

Tuesday, 7-8 am @ CMHS Track

Wednesday, 6 -7 pm @ Celery Fields

Thursday,  7-8 am @ Benderson

Friday, 7-8 am @ CMHS Track

Cost:    FREE

This program is open to any enrolled Cardinal Mooney student that is interested in running cross country in the fall or looking for great conditioning and/or cross train for another sport.  All levels are welcome.  All participants must have Athletic Clearance including a current EL2 physical. Girls Volleyball Summer Conditioning – Coach Chad Davis

Dates:

June 1-3               9 am to 12 Noon 

June 7-10             9 am to 12 Noon 

June 14-17           12 pm to 3 pm

July 5-8                 9 am to 12 noon

June 21-24           12 pm to 3 pm 

 

Days:   Monday-Thursday

Cost:    $150               

This program is being offered for 9th-12th graders at CMHS (including incoming freshman). All participants must have Athletic Clearance including a current EL2 physical.  Please contact Coach Davis at [email protected] for more information.

Boys Basketball Summer Program – Coach Clayton Slentz

Dates: May 31-June 24

Days:   Monday-Thursday

Times: 7 am – 9 am

Cost:    $120            

* We will continue workouts into July, likely twice a week. Schedule TBD                 

The program is open to those enrolled at CMHS. Incoming 9th graders and transfers must have completed the school year at their middle school/High School prior to starting. Girls Basketball – Coach Rico Antonio

Dates: June 7-July 2, July 12-22

Days:   Tuesday/Wednesday/Thursday

Times: 6 pm – 8 pm

Cost:    FREE

Football Summer Conditioning– Coach Jared Clark

Dates: June 7-July 1 and July 12-July 29

Days:   Monday-Thursday

Times: 8 am – 11 am
