The Cardinal Mooney Catholic High School Spanish Club, in collaboration  with Incarnation Catholic Church, is running a long sleeve shirt drive at school. These shirts will be donated to local migrant workers in order to protect them from any environmental harm they may face on the job. Shirts may be in new, or gently used condition.

You may ask, why long sleeve? This is because many migrant workers face long and tedious hours of taxing work, while being exposed to dangerous pesticides, and heat stress. Each year, an estimated 1 billion pounds of pesticides are applied to United States farms, forests, lawns and golf courses.  Pesticide applicators, farmers and migrant workers, and communities near farms are often most at risk of pesticide exposure and heat related illnesses. These workers need long sleeves to protect them, and donations from our schools students, family, and faculty can be a great help to these hard workers. This drive ends Friday March 23rd 2018, and all long sleeve shirt donations can be brought to Ms.Jewells room.

It is always rewarding to donate to someone in need, and as Proverbs 11:25 says, “A generous person will prosper; whoever refreshes others will be refreshed.” These migrant workers work through long and strenuous hours to better our community, and any donation can help protect a worker on the job. So please check to see if you, your family or friends, have any long sleeve shirts donate to the Cardinal Mooney Catholic High School Spanish club, and Incarnation Catholic Church  long sleeve shirt drive!
