Friday night lights to dancing under the lights! Get ready for tacky tourists, cowboys, and team players filling up Cardinal Mooney’s halls, as everyone gets excited to spread Cougar spirit. Friday October 26th, we will have a rally schedule and a pep rally to pump up the Cougar pride for our undefeated varsity football team.

The week of October 22-26, you will be able to dress down in your craziest outfits. The theme for Monday is classic team, come dressed in your favorite jersey or dressed in your favorite sports attire. On Tuesday, the theme is Tacky Tourist. Wild West is Wednesday’s theme. Thursday’s theme is “Throwback Thursday.” Friday is a day to wear jeans and your Spirit Day shirt. Saturday October 27th is the night of the homecoming dance. The theme for the dance is Starry Night. In case you are not aware, this refers to the famous painting created by Vincent Van Gough.

We will have the yearly pep rally student vs. teacher volleyball game that will surely have you sitting on the edge of your seat. You will also see the JV and varsity cheerleaders do flips, tricks, and pyramids which they worked hard all season to perfect. Later that night is Cardinal Mooney’s annual Fish Fry that starts at 5pm and ends at 7pm and after, the Homecoming game will start. Come and support the Cougars! Get ready to socialize, eat food, and watch football as Cardinal Mooney High School takes on Clearwater Catholic.

Our Varsity Football team proves that hard work pays off: With summer practices, many days in the weightlifting room, and regular practices in the scorching heat, the team has been able to go… undefeated! Our Cougars have won six games so far, and there are still five more games for them to play. They had one setback, recently. Ryan Bolduc, our quarterback, suffered a knee injury that has placed him on the injured list. Even with a player out, the team will not give up and keep pushing!
