Cardinal Mooney Students’ Summer Conditioning Program

Cardinal Mooney Athletics is excited to offer the Summer Conditioning Program
to all Cardinal Mooney students enrolled in the 2022-2023 school year

What is the Summer Condition Program?

The program will consist of Strength & Conditioning and Crossfit.

Who will Coach the program?

Cardinal Mooney alum and Social Sciences teacher Scott Ruane is the head coach for our girls and boys weightlifting teams. Coach Ruane has helped produce district and regional champions, as well as several state championship qualifiers. Coach Ruane believes in teaching proper technique and allowing everyone to reach their individual goals.

Coach Alice Smithers is the assistant coach for both girls and boys weightlifting teams, as well as our head coach for boys and girls swimming. The Smithers family is responsible for beginning the weightlifting program at Mooney and has helped see the program grow. Coach Alice has been instrumental to developing many athletes at all levels.

Our cross country head coach, Christi McDonald, will lead the Cross-fit portion of the program. Coach McDonald is also the distance coach for our track and field team and consistently has runners compete for the district, regional, and state championships. Coach McDonald has an enthusiasm and passion for young people and she creates a positive environment for them to excel.
