Sister M. Lucia Haas Scholarship Endowment
With a vision to inspire philanthropy and honor the Patterson family heritage, The Patterson Foundation in Sarasota has established the Sister M. Lucia Haas Scholarship Endowment. This fund will provide the resources necessary to offer the very best in Catholic education for any desiring young man or woman. The Patterson Foundation has made an initial $1 million contribution and will match gifts dollar for dollar up to an additional $1 million through a challenge grant. With the success of this opportunity, Cardinal Mooney Catholic High School will add a total of $3 million to its scholarship endowment. In order to guarantee success, we are relying on the combined efforts of our entire community.
Annual Fund
A gift to Cardinal Mooney Catholic High School will help build and sustain our school as a leader in academics, athletics and extracurricular and service experiences. Your contributions are vital to support our special programs, teacher salaries and our general operating budget as well.

Technology Fund
Cardinal Mooney Catholic High School is constantly striving to enhance educational effectiveness through technology. A gift made to this fund will help CMHS maintain and enhance the technology on our campus by increasing faculty and staff training, updating computer curriculum, monitoring critical components, establishing disaster plans, increasing usage of online resources, providing wireless connection throughout the campus, installing video streaming capabilities in the classroom, and positioning the school for future use of electronic media instead of hardcopy textbooks.
Memorials/Tributes
Cardinal Mooney Catholic High School welcomes gifts in memoriam for students, alumnae or loved ones. All gifts will be acknowledged as such. In addition, any tributes to teachers, students, campus groups, etc. are gratefully accepted. Notification of receipt of the gift will be sent to the donor as well as the recipient of the tribute.
Employee Matching Gift Programs
Some employers offer their employees and/or retirees the benefit of matching gifts (also called Matching Funds). These are grants that an employer makes to match its employees’ charitable contributions. Please check with your employer for participation. Gifts of Appreciated Stock
A gift of stock will give you an immediate tax benefit on the full market value of your gift and helps you avoid capital gains tax. Gifts of stock are also very appropriate to use when establishing a life income gift, such as a Charitable Gift Annuity or a Charitable Remainder Trust. Please contact the Advancement Office at (941) 379-2647 for help in making your stock gift.
IRA Contributions
If you are 70½ years old, you may be able to contribute directly from your Individual Retirement Account (IRA). This deduction would come out of your IRA as
non taxable and it would count toward your annual minimum requirement distribution. You would simply instruct your IRA custodian to send a check directly to Cardinal Mooney Catholic High School.
Planned and Estate Giving
A planned gift is any major gift made in lifetime or at death as part of your overall financial and/or estate planning. While some planned gifts provide a life-long income to the donor, others use estate and tax planning techniques to provide for charitable giving in ways that maximize the gift.
